If MRSA is diagnosed, any abscessed areas may be drained and an aggressive course of strong antibotics may be prescribed.

Some of the most helpful facts about MRSA are those that can help you prevent the spread of this bacterial infection. Frequent handwashing and the use of hand sanitizers can help. If you use a gym or locker room, wear protective waterproof shoes and don't share towels or other personal items. Ask your child's school what they are doing to prevent the spread of MRSA among the student population.
